There is no conflict of interest when you are dealing with AquaGuard’s mold assessment. We can advise testing or remediation, by a certified professional, on an individual basis. It is advised that only professionals with IICRC or IAQA certification be utilized for your mold problems.
Should you have specific health concerns about potential mold issues, it is recommended that air sampling be done by a certified professional to determine the extent of any contamination. JUST BECAUSE MOLD IS BLACK, DOES NOT MEAN IT IS TOXIC!!

Mold requires a source of moisture and a food source to survive and colonize. The food source can be any carbon based substance, especially those that are cellulosic in nature. Some of the best food sources found within a structure are:
- Sheetrock
- Wood (studs, paneling)
- Cardboard
- Ceiling tile
- Wallpaper/glue
- Carpet
**Concrete and stone are not food sources, but mold may grow on something adhering to their surfaces.
